Reader: Rachel York

Rachel York is a husky voiced woman, which I find make the most believable male voices. She is very good and conveys a number of different characters very well. This is the story of Molly and Harry. Harry is a psychic who is afraid of his gifts and afraid he is going mad. Molly is a down to earth lady who grew up in a fantasy house. The wonders of the self-cleaning house are well delineated on the tape.

Rachel York portrays Molly's strength very well and also her determination to make Harry's two feuding families stop using Harry. My favorite part is when she rigs Harry's answering machine so that his family reaches her instead of him. Harry has so much baggage that he really needs her help to extricate him from the role of father figure to two very different families. When Harry's debutante Mother made a runaway marriage with his Carny father, neither family ever forgave either of them.

Harry is a really unusual hero. He is afraid of his own sanity, afraid to commit or open himself to anyone. An extremely sensitive man who is not a typical alpha guy. The abridgment of the murder/swindle story is well done and nothing of import is really lost. A great listen.
